FAQ

Allergies & nutrition

At flwr & co., we strongly believe that the healthiest diet is one with balance. If we can finish an entire vegan cookie in one go (which we’ve never failed to do), you better believe we’re going to enjoy the hell out of it. However, as we ourselves are avid macro trackers, we do like to know what and how much we’re eating. So, for our fellow food trackers, we’ve calculated the nutritional value and macros for each of our vegan cookies.

You can find this information under the “Ingredients and nutritional info” tab on the separate product pages. We’ve also added a couple of publicly accessible entries to the MyFitnessPal app database that you can use as a template. Simply search for “flwr & co.”, choose one of our entries and adjust the caloric value as necessary according to that of the flavour you’re having (the macro ratios of all cookie flavours are very similar).

All of our cookies are vegan, so they do not contain any dairy. This makes all of our cookies suitable for lactose-intolerant people. However, our cookies are made using gluten-containing products like wheat flour, so we do not recommend consuming our products if you are sensitive or allergic to gluten.

Furthermore, some of our cookies may contain or come into contact with nuts and soy-containing products. Allergens for each cookie can be found in the product descriptions (“Warning: contains …”). Please bear in mind that, although not all of our products contain these allergens, they are all prepared and baked in the same environment. That means there is always a risk of cross-contamination.

Unfortunately, we do not offer gluten-free vegan cookies at the moment. However, this is one of our future goals, so keep your eyes peeled!

A minimum order of 4 cookies is required for shipping.

Our cookies

Our vegan cookies weigh around 150 grams each. However, since every single one of our cookies is stuffed and finished by hand, please bear in mind that the exact weight of each cookie may vary.

If you have a special event that absolutely REQUIRES our mouthwatering vegan cookies (birthdays, gender reveals, baby showers, parties, weddings, office lunches, you name it), we would be more than happy to see what we can do for you! Simply drop us a message with the specifics of your request to flwrandcocookies@gmail.com.

Yes, we only offer 100% vegan cookies. No meat, dairy or eggs involved!

Personally, we enjoy our cookies best fresh out the oven. No worries though, you can achieve the same experience at home simply by reheating your cookies in a preheated oven (or air fryer) at 180°C. From room temperature: reheat 5-10 minutes depending on how gooey you like the inside.

Don’t have an oven? Our cookies can also be reheated in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Bear in mind that the microwave gives other results than the oven: the cookies will turn out softer and chewier and lose their crunchy top! If you’ve stored your cookies in the freezer to enjoy later, simply reheat from frozen for a little longer (about 12-15 minutes).

As our cookies are individually wrapped and heat-sealed, they will remain fresh for at least 7 days at room temperature, and even a little longer in the fridge. However, for optimum freshness, we recommend you enjoy your cookies ASAP after receiving them!

Alternatively, save them for a rainy day by placing them in the freezer in their original heat-sealed packaging. In the freezer, our cookies should remain fresh for a minimum of 6 months. For reheating instructions, see “What is the best way to reheat my cookies?”

Shipping

We work with a pre-order system, which means we collect orders every Friday from 12:00 pm till Tuesday 08:00 am (or until we sell out). All orders placed from Friday to Tuesday will be freshly baked on Tuesday and Wednesday and shipped out on Thursday. We ship with PostNL, who normally deliver within 1-2 business days (including Saturdays) throughout The Netherlands and Belgium.

That means you will likely receive your order on the first Friday or Saturday following the date of your order. You will be able to follow the journey of your order via a Track & Trace link. Please note we have no control over shipping once we hand over the order to PostNL. Questions and complaints about your shipment should be directed to PostNL.

Once we’ve packed and handed over your order to our courier PostNL, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your personal tracking number (starting with 3S). You will then be able to track your order at https://www.postnl.nl/ontvangen/post-ontvangen/track-en-trace/.

We now ship to all EU countries.

Sustainability

We are vegan and we run a vegan business not only because we care about animals but also because we care about our environment and the planet. That is why we want to keep our environmental impact to a minimum. We try our best to do so by wrapping our cookies in compostable Ingeo™ EarthFirst bags made from starchy plant material (or polylactic acid, PLA) and by opting for naturally compostable and water-soluble filling material. These can be disposed of with your organic waste. To read more about how to dispose of our various packaging, please check out this FAQ.

The leaflets you’ll receive with your order are made from agricultural waste instead of trees. This paper is produced via a carbon-neutral production process by PaperWise and has only 50% (!) of the environmental impact compared to FSC-certified paper. In addition, we try to limit our use of stickers with our custom-made logo stamp. If you have any suggestions as to how we can further improve our sustainability, please don’t hesitate to shoot us a message via Instagram (@flwrandcocookies) or via email at flwrandcocookies@gmail.com!

While our compostable Ingeo™ EarthFirst bags may look like plastic, they are actually made from starchy plant material known as polylactic acid (PLA). The bags comply with the European standard for compostability (EN13432) and can be disposed of with your organic waste (Dutch: GFT-afval). They will then be processed in commercial compost facilities. According to Ingeo™, the bags can be broken down within 15 weeks but recent research by the University of Wageningen has shown that compostable PLA plastics may actually break down much more quickly in the composting process. You can read a (Dutch) summary of their research here. Please DO NOT RECYCLE THE BAGS IN YOUR PLASTIC WASTE BIN (it will decrease the quality of the recycled plastic). Read more on Ingeo™ bioplastic here.

Our filling material is even naturally compostable, meaning it can be disposed of on your at-home compost heap, but it can be disposed of more quickly by dissolving it in water.

We kindly but strongly encourage you to re-use our cardboard boxes for your own parcels. Otherwise, please recycle them by throwing them on the (mixed) paper pile.
